The roots of Guided Growth trace back to The Mosaic Project in 2008. Teaching 3rd and 4th grade students each day among the redwoods of Napa Valley reshaped Pablo's understanding of what it meant to be a teacher, facilitator, and guide. It was in that enchanted forest that he witnessed, week after week, the limitless potential within every child to grow skyward, much akin to the towering redwoods surrounding the outdoor classrooms. And the adults grew with them.

Children, especially, are the seeds of our collective future. Our responsibility as adults—as gardeners—is to recognize the uniqueness of each seed, nurture it with care, and provide the environment it needs to take root, blossom, and thrive into its fullest potential.

Each holds unique strengths, yet each can also become limited by its own “pot.” This realization led him to explore a truly student-centered approach: blending the best elements of different systems to serve the learner, rather than requiring the learner to fit the system.
